KFC was founded in America by Harland Sanders, at the age of 62 and after he had previously tried to do various jobs: Captain on a ferry boat, insurer, seller in a lighting store, lawyer, tire seller, and even an amateur obstetrician!
He failed miserably in all of them, so much so that he even tried to commit suicide!

The magic number 11Ten years later, in 1940, he perfected his recipe. It contained 11 spices and herbs and part of it, was engraved behind the kitchen door at that gas station.

A... golden secret recipeThe first KFC opened in 1952 and in 1955, after managing to patent the unique recipe, it embarked on a marathon run to raise funds and grow the brand. He made over 1,000 meetings and finally, in 1964, at the age of 74, sold the KFCs to investors for $ 2 million! The sequel is known.
